Summary of Chapter FROM MOTHER WITH LOVE

In this lesson, the writer narrates a very beautiful story based on maternal love, not only for the children but also for the whole family. It also explains the strength and depth of close relationships like mother-daughter, father-daughter, and husband-wife.

Minta is the strongest and central character of this story. She evolves a lot through the course of the story. She is shown as a careless girl in the beginning. Minta's father takes her to the beach. He takes her to the other part of the beach, where there are no people but only the jagged pile of rocks that jutted out into the bay. There, he tells her that her mother is ill and that she will die.

When she learns the fact that her mother is going to die and that she will not be able to join Marry Hills college this year, she is sad, and this sadness grows inside her, making her stronger than before. She confronts several nightmares, inner conflicts, random thoughts, and sleeplessness; she lives with the burden of the secret that her mother will die, and she does not know it.

Minta had this feeling that her mother was unaware of her illness. But after her mother's death, when she found several well arranged and well-written letters to different people in her mother's drawer, she realized that her mother was aware of her illness and fast approaching death.

Towards the end of the story, we find Minta turning into a mature, serious, and strong girl who can even face her mother's death with utmost courage and strength. Minta becomes her father's strength and sacrifices her studies and dream of joining Marry Hills. It shows the magnitude of her character.
