Significance of the novel THINGS FALL APART

  The title "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe is highly significant and carries multiple layers of meaning within the context of the novel: Foreshadowing  The title foreshadows the central theme of the novel, which is the disintegration and downfall of the Igbo society in Nigeria due to the impact of European colonialism and cultural imperialism. It suggests that the traditional way of life in the Igbo community will crumble as external forces and internal conflicts take their toll.
